  • What is mental performance training?
    It is the application of sports psychology principles to develop emotional and mental knowledge, strategies, and skills which will enhance your overall performance and well-being. This training will change your mindset and close the the barrier between where athletes are and where they want to be.
  • What do Mental Performance Consultants do?
    Mental Performance Consultants (MPC's) can help guide you in a variety of ways: Help you become more confident in yourself Decrease nerves or "butterflies" before games Help you get "in the zone" Increase emotional control in high-pressure situations Prepare you for tryouts, exams, or job interviews And much more!
  • How many sessions will I need?
    That depends on your needs and desire to improve! Like any training it will take time, effort, and practice to learn a new skill. Everyone is unique and individuals will learn a new aspects about themselves during each session. The initial assessment will help us discover what your strengths and weaknesses and what path we need to take.
  • What happens in a training session?
    In a individual training session, you will work one-on-one with a mental performance consultant. We will work on an area of improvement and you will learn through discussion, exercises, and activities. Each session is designed to work on a specific mental skill, but sessions are flexible and we can discuss any issue going on in your life. Our goal is to help you understand who you are and to develop skills to improve your overall mental health. Workshops are designed for a group setting and focus on interaction discussion. Workshops have the same philosophy as mentioned above, but also include skills such as teamwork, communication, conflict resolutions, and leadership development. We provide handouts that you can keep for future reference.
  • How much can I expect to improve with mental training?
    Mental performance improvement is all about how much effort you put into it. If you are honest and open with yourself about what is hindering your performance, then we will be able to understand the roots of your problems. Buying in to your own development is key to becoming self-aware and how you act in all aspects of life.
  • Is mental performance training only for athletes?
    Not at all! The mental skills that athletes use in sport are transferable life skills that can be used in any situation. Thus, anyone who is looking to improve their performance and success in life will benefit from mental performance training.
